Using Voltix in your server

Everything you can do with Voltix from inside Discord: the commands, the buttons, and what each feature does. You do not need to install anything.

01Getting started

Voltix works through slash commands. Type / in any channel and pick a command from the list, or right-click a member or a message and open Apps. Only the commands your server has turned on will work.

/help
Shows what Voltix can do in this server, by category.
/status
Checks that Voltix is healthy here and lists any permission it is missing.
/userinfo
Shows information about a member.
/serverinfo
Shows information about the server.
/roleinfo
Shows information about a role.
/channelinfo
Shows information about a channel.
/avatar
Shows someone's avatar in full size.
Most replies are private (only you see them). If a command says a module is "turned off", your server managers chose not to use that feature. Ask them if you think it should be on.

02Everyday commands

/rank
Shows your level and XP.
/leaderboard
Shows the XP leaderboard for this server.
/afk
Tells people you are away. It clears when you talk again.
/remind
Sets a personal reminder (add, list, cancel). Voltix messages you when it is due.
/birthday
Set, remove or view your birthday, and see upcoming ones (set, remove, view, upcoming).
/suggest
Sends a suggestion to the server. Others can vote and staff can decide.
/poll
Create a poll with a form, or close your own (create, form, close). Members vote with buttons.
/voice
Manage your own temporary voice channel: name, limit, lock, unlock, transfer (name, limit, transfer, lock, unlock).
/c
Runs a custom command your server created.
/event
Create, list or cancel server events.

03Levels and XP

When leveling is on, you earn XP for chatting (and in voice channels, if the server enabled it). There is a short pause between awards so spamming does not help. Reaching a level can give you a role reward and a congratulation message.

  • /rank shows your progress.
  • /leaderboard shows the top members.
  • Staff can adjust XP with /xp (add, remove, reset).

04Tickets and getting help

  1. Find the ticket panel your server posted (usually a message with buttons) and choose a category.
  2. If the category has a form, fill it in. Voltix opens a private channel for you and the support team.
  3. Describe your problem. Staff can claim, prioritise and add other people to the ticket.
  4. When it is closed, you may receive a transcript by direct message and a short rating request.
/ticket
Used inside a ticket channel: close, reopen, claim, unclaim, assign, priority, note, notes, add, remove.Staff

05Appeals and reports

If you were warned, timed out, kicked or banned and think it was a mistake, you can appeal. Staff review it in the dashboard. If an appeal is approved, the action is reversed automatically.

/appeal
Submit an appeal or check the status of an existing one (submit, status). Servers can also provide a public appeal page.
/report
Privately report a member to the moderators.
You can also right-click a member or message, open Apps, and choose Report member or Report message.

06Giveaways, polls and suggestions

  • Giveaways: press the button on the giveaway message to enter. Some have requirements (a role, or more entries for boosters). Winners are announced when it ends.
  • Polls: press a button to vote. Results update live and show when the poll closes.
  • Suggestions: use /suggest, then vote on the posted suggestion. Staff mark it approved or denied.
  • Role menus: choose roles from the buttons or menu on a role-menu message to give yourself roles.
  • Verification: press the Verify button in the verification channel to unlock the rest of the server.
/giveaway
Start, end, reroll, cancel or list giveaways (start, form, end, reroll, cancel, list).Giveaway managers
